ISSUE FRAMING & CHARGE FRAMING COMPETITION- 2026

The Issue Framing & Charge Framing Competition, 2026 is a national practical legal drafting competition open to law students, graduates, and young professionals. It tests participants' ability to analyse pleadings and facts, and to correctly frame civil issues and criminal charges. Each participant receives one civil fact situation and one criminal fact situation, and must complete two drafting exercises: Part A — Civil Issue Framing: Frame material issues in dispute under Order XIV, CPC, 1908 (issues of fact, law, or both). Part B — Criminal Charge Framing: Identify the offence(s) and frame charge(s) with reference to Form No. 33, Second Schedule, BNSS, 2023.
